Latest National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus project sunny skies with highs near 94°F for Houston on September 18, supported by easterly flow and drier air mass following Thursday’s scattered storms. This setup favors peak readings in the mid-90s, consistent with recent daily maxima of 93–96°F and above the 89–91°F September climatological average. Heat indices may still reach 105°F despite lower humidity, while minimal cloud cover and light winds limit cooling. Traders have priced 92–95°F ranges as favorites because forecast uncertainty centers on exact afternoon peaks rather than broader deviations, with low probabilities assigned to 100°F+ outcomes given the narrow historical window for such extremes this late in the season. Updated model runs and official briefings remain the key near-term catalysts.
