Forecast models for New York City on September 16 show high temperatures clustered in the mid-to-upper 70s, with some runs reaching the low 80s amid light southwesterly flow and partly cloudy conditions that limit peak heating. This spread drives the market’s even distribution across 76–81°F bins and notable probabilities on higher outcomes, as small shifts in cloud cover, boundary-layer mixing, or timing of any weak frontal passage can alter the daily maximum by several degrees. Historical climatology places the September 16 average high near 76°F, providing context for why traders assign meaningful weight to both near-normal and warmer scenarios. Updated National Weather Service model runs and afternoon observations over the next 48 hours will likely refine these ranges before resolution.
