David Eby leads the market for British Columbia’s next premier at 68.5% as the incumbent NDP leader who called a snap provincial election for October 24, 2026, two years ahead of schedule, citing trade pressures with the United States. The Conservative Party’s internal turmoil, including Kerry-Lynne Findlay’s recent resignation and the appointment of Lorne Doerkson as interim leader, has contributed to his lower 29% share, while John Rustad sits at 0.5% after announcing he will not run. Multiple other names listed at 50% or lower reflect uncertainty over final candidate slates and party realignments ahead of the vote. Recent caucus shifts and the compressed campaign timeline have reinforced trader consensus around Eby’s position entering the contest.
