Bo French holds a modest edge in trader consensus for the November 3, 2026, Texas Railroad Commissioner race, reflecting Texas’s structural Republican lean and recent polling showing him ahead of Jon Rosenthal by three points among likely voters. French secured the GOP nomination by defeating incumbent Jim Wright in the May primary runoff, while Rosenthal advanced unopposed in the Democratic primary. The contest stays tight due to unusually high undecided shares—around 13 percent in August surveys—and Rosenthal’s emphasis on his engineering background in the oil and gas sector versus French’s focus on other issues. A Libertarian candidate, Arthur DiBianca, also appears on the ballot. Late-campaign developments in fundraising, endorsements, or turnout among independents and energy-industry voters could widen or narrow the gap before Election Day.
