The 2026 Delta, British Columbia mayoral election is currently scheduled to be held on October 17, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next mayor of Delta, British Columbia as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting; however, if there is any ambiguity in the results, this market will resolve according to official information from Delta, British Columbia.**In the lead-up to Delta, BC’s October 17, 2026 municipal election, the mayoral race remains tightly contested among incumbent George Harvie (Achieving for Delta), challenger Dylan Kruger (One Delta), and Melissa Granum (Delta First), alongside numerous independent or lesser-known candidates.** The split within Harvie’s former dominant slate—stemming from 2024 council action that removed him as Metro Vancouver chair and the subsequent departure of four councillors to form One Delta—has fragmented the electorate and elevated local governance reform, transparency, and regional district accountability as central campaign themes. Kruger’s “back-to-basics” platform emphasizes infrastructure, economic development, public safety, and restoring advisory committees, while Harvie highlights continuity on core services and selective withdrawal from non-essential Metro Vancouver programs. Granum’s Delta First slate focuses on accountability, livability, and affordability. With nominations closing September 11 and the campaign period beginning shortly after, the market’s close pricing reflects voter divisions over these issues, competing slates, and the absence of decisive polling or late-breaking shifts. Key upcoming catalysts include candidate debates, further policy releases on the Massey Tunnel replacement and recreation facilities, and turnout dynamics across North and South Delta that could consolidate support or fragment it further among the field.
