Incumbent Brenda Locke of Surrey Connect holds a commanding lead in the October 17, 2026, Surrey mayoral race, reflecting her narrow 2022 victory over Doug McCallum and ongoing advantages as sitting mayor. Nominations closed on September 11 with seven candidates, including main challengers McCallum of the Safe Surrey Coalition and councillor Linda Annis of Surrey First, plus several newer entrants. Public safety remains the dominant campaign issue across slates, alongside housing, growth, and infrastructure. A snap provincial election called for October 24 has introduced concerns over voter confusion and fatigue due to overlapping advance voting periods, though this has not yet shifted reported positioning. The crowded field and Locke's established Surrey Connect organization contribute to the current trader consensus on frontrunner status ahead of election day.
