**National Weather Service forecasts indicate sunny conditions and highs in the upper 80s to low 90s across Los Angeles on September 10, 2026, following an extreme heat event on the 9th driven by peak high pressure and residual moisture from former Hurricane Marie.** This setup favors an 88-89°F peak as the most likely outcome, consistent with model consensus showing gradual cooling from Wednesday’s 100°F+ readings and a shift toward stronger onshore flow. Recent data from NWS and local observations highlight reduced heat risk Thursday, with dew points dropping and marine influence moderating inland temperatures. Historical September averages near 76-77°F provide context, but the current ridge breakdown and clear skies support the market’s emphasis on the upper 80s range over cooler or hotter extremes. Updated NWS briefings and morning model runs will refine the final high before resolution.
