Persistent heat and high pressure across the Southeast have kept Atlanta overnight lows in the mid-70s through early September 2026, well above the 68–69°F climatological average for September 4. Official NWS and model guidance through September 2 project a Friday minimum near 75°F under mostly clear skies and light winds, with only slight afternoon thunderstorm chances that would not substantially alter the daily low. This warm anomaly, tied to the ongoing heat wave and elevated dew points, underpins the tight clustering of market-implied odds around 74–77°F bins. Traders are weighing minor forecast revisions from the next model cycle against the low likelihood of rapid cooling before the period closes.
