Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance for Atlanta on September 2 shows overnight lows centered in the mid-70s°F under persistent subtropical high pressure, clear to partly cloudy skies, and light easterly flow, keeping temperatures several degrees above the 1991–2020 climatological average low of 69°F. This setup favors reduced radiative cooling overnight while limiting advection of cooler air. Market-implied odds remain balanced across bins because ensemble spreads in short-range guidance still allow modest variability from minor timing shifts in any weak frontal boundary or changes in boundary-layer moisture and cloud cover, which can alter minimum temperatures by 2–4°F. Traders weigh the strong consensus for above-normal warmth against the possibility of localized clearing or slight model cooling trends before resolution.
