The southwest monsoon, or habagat, currently driving moderate to heavy rainfall and extensive cloud cover over Metro Manila is the main factor keeping trader odds nearly even between a 20°C-or-below minimum (42.5%) and 30°C-or-higher (41.5%) on September 11. Persistent rain and overcast skies from this system typically suppress both daytime maxima and overnight radiative cooling, with official PAGASA guidance and ensemble models pointing to a daily minimum near 24–25°C amid 80% rain probability. Historical September lows in Manila average 25–26°C, though stronger monsoon episodes can shave 1–2°C lower without reaching the extremes priced in the market. Fresh model runs and the next PAGASA extended outlook will likely tighten the range as the 48-hour forecast window narrows.
