The closely matched market odds across the 52–57°F bins reflect uncertainty in the precise extent of overnight radiational cooling expected for Seattle on September 9. Under clear to partly cloudy skies and light northerly to northeasterly winds of 2–7 mph, surface heat loss proceeds efficiently after sunset, with dew points near 50–55°F limiting further drops. Marine moderation from Puget Sound and the urban heat island at official stations like Sea-Tac typically anchor the low in the mid-50s, close to the 1991–2020 climatological average of 54.2°F. Minor forecast variations in cloud cover timing or wind speed among NWS and private models create the tight spread traders are pricing. Updated evening observations and final hourly readings will determine the exact bin.
