**Prince Andrew, now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, faces an ongoing UK police investigation into alleged misconduct in public office tied to his past dealings with Jeffrey Epstein, but he has not been charged with any crime.** Arrested in February 2026 on his birthday and released the same day under investigation after roughly 11 hours in custody, the former royal remains in that status with no public updates indicating formal charges, a trial, or conviction as of mid-June. The offense carries a theoretical maximum of life imprisonment, yet it demands a high evidentiary threshold that experts describe as difficult to meet, especially given the passage of time since the underlying events and the absence of new prosecutorial action. King Charles III has stated that the law must take its course, consistent with the stripping of Andrew’s titles and honors in 2025. Traders assign a 93% probability to no prison sentence because the process remains at a preliminary investigative stage, conviction is uncertain even if charges are brought, and historical patterns show such cases rarely advance to custodial outcomes without clear, timely evidence of criminal conduct.

This market will remain open through December 31, 2026 or until Prince Andrew is sentenced to time in jail/prison, regardless of any initial sentencing that does not include prison. Any sentencing will qualify, regardless of subsequent appeals or changes to the sentence.
Civil lawsuits, regulatory actions, administrative complaints, investigations without charges, internal employment actions, or public accusations without the filing of criminal charges will not qualify, even if widely reported or described colloquially as “charges.”
If at any point all charges against Prince Andrew for all criminal cases are dropped for whatever reason, due to a plea agreement without an admission of guilt, a dismissal, or any other situation in which no judgement is rendered or will be rendered by the court, this market will resolve to "No".
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the relevant government and law enforcement; however a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
