This market will resolve to "Yes" if Prince Andrew is sentenced to any time in jail/prison for any charges, by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". This market will remain open through December 31, 2026 or until Prince Andrew is sentenced to time in jail/prison, regardless of any initial sentencing that does not include prison. Any sentencing will qualify, regardless of subsequent appeals or changes to the sentence. Civil lawsuits, regulatory actions, administrative complaints, investigations without charges, internal employment actions, or public accusations without the filing of criminal charges will not qualify, even if widely reported or described colloquially as “charges.” If at any point all charges against Prince Andrew for all criminal cases are dropped for whatever reason, due to a plea agreement without an admission of guilt, a dismissal, or any other situation in which no judgement is rendered or will be rendered by the court, this market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the relevant government and law enforcement; however a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**Ongoing UK police investigations into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (formerly Prince Andrew) have not produced charges, let alone a conviction that could lead to sentencing.** He was arrested in February 2026 on suspicion of misconduct in public office tied to alleged sharing of confidential trade envoy documents with Jeffrey Epstein, then released after roughly 11 hours and placed under further investigation. As of mid-June 2026, authorities have not filed charges, and the case remains in the pre-charge stage with inquiries extending into related allegations. Misconduct in public office is a serious common-law offense that can theoretically carry life imprisonment, yet successful prosecutions are rare and require strong evidence of willful misconduct causing serious harm. Historical patterns show limited precedent for charging or convicting members of the royal family in such matters, and procedural hurdles—including prosecutorial discretion and evidentiary thresholds—add further barriers. Recent developments, such as additional witness interviews and document reviews, have not altered the absence of formal charges. Trader consensus at 93% "No" reflects these structural realities: conviction and sentencing would require crossing multiple high-probability thresholds that have not materialized in the months since the arrest. Scheduled updates on the investigation or any charging decision could still influence odds, but current facts point to a low likelihood of prison sentencing within typical resolution windows.
