**James Talarico holds an implied 78% probability of winning Collin County in the 2026 Texas U.S. Senate race, well ahead of Ken Paxton at 16.5%.** Recent statewide polling averages show the contest as a toss-up or slight Talarico edge, with the Democrat leading or tied in multiple August surveys amid strong independent and suburban support. Talarico defeated Jasmine Crockett in the Democratic primary and has outraised Paxton significantly, while Paxton secured the GOP nomination by defeating incumbent John Cornyn in the May runoff with late Trump backing. Collin County’s suburban demographics—marked by growth, higher education levels, and independent voters—align with areas where recent data indicate Talarico performs competitively, reflecting broader shifts in Dallas-Fort Worth suburbs. Forecasters rate the overall race a toss-up or lean Republican, with November 3 resolution depending on turnout and late spending.
