Recent June consumer price data showing a 1.0% year-over-year rise, below expectations, has anchored trader views around subdued outcomes amid persistent weak domestic demand and declining food prices such as pork. Core inflation excluding food and energy also moderated, while easing energy costs from geopolitical developments limited upward pressure on non-food components. These elements sustain a tight contest between the 0.9-1.0% and 1.1-1.2% ranges, reflecting uncertainty over whether July figures will extend the softening trend or stabilize near prior levels. Separation could emerge from the National Bureau of Statistics release, shifts in monthly retail sales or producer prices, or any policy signals on stimulus that influence household spending and price pass-through.
