Official ONPE tallies with over 90% of actas processed confirm Keiko Fujimori's lead at approximately 17% in Peru's fragmented April 12 first-round presidential election, securing her top position among 36 candidates amid widespread vote splitting. Her dominance reflects strong urban turnout, alignment with conservative voters disillusioned by recent instability, and steady trends from initial exit polls through progressive counts, despite logistical delays like ballot shortages that extended voting into April 13 and sparked unsubstantiated fraud claims. Trader consensus implies near-certainty as remaining rural ballots are unlikely to alter the order, advancing Fujimori to the June 7 runoff against a contested second-place contender such as Rafael López Aliaga or Roberto Sánchez Palomino. Reversal scenarios include anomalous late tallies or upheld legal challenges to results.
