Recent forecast model consensus from MetService, ECMWF, and GFS runs points to a daytime high near 15°C on September 20 in Wellington, driven by a southerly wind shift following a cold front that moderates spring temperatures while limiting peak warming. Daytime maxima are expected around 14–15°C amid partly cloudy skies and scattered showers, with southerly flows of 20–30 km/h suppressing further rises. Historical September averages near 14–15°C provide climatological context, and the narrow spread in latest model outputs explains the market's heavy weighting toward 14–15°C outcomes. Updated guidance ahead of the weekend will refine any last adjustments from evolving pressure gradients.
