**Forecasts from the National Weather Service and private models indicate mostly sunny skies and a persistent warm, humid southwest flow will drive Chicago’s September 2 high into the low-to-mid 90s.** Official NWS guidance for O’Hare projects a high near 91°F with gusty southwest winds to 25 mph, while several commercial outlooks range from 93–94°F and note heat indices approaching 100°F amid dew points in the low 70s. These conditions align with the market’s heaviest volume on 92–93°F (42.5%) and 94–95°F (30.0%), reflecting trader consensus around the upper end of the forecast envelope. Minor model spread and the possibility of slightly stronger mixing or cloud cover keep a modest probability on 90–91°F, but the current pattern supports little chance of readings outside the 90–95°F window. Updated NWS briefings and afternoon model runs remain the key near-term catalysts.
