Current forecast models from agencies like AEMET indicate a peak temperature near 38–39°C in Madrid on September 4, driven by a persistent high-pressure system promoting clear skies, light northeasterly winds, and minimal cloud cover that allows strong daytime heating. Madrid’s continental climate and urban heat island effect amplify maxima this late in the season, when September averages hover around 27–30°C. Ensemble runs show limited spread but note sensitivity to minor wind shifts or moisture intrusions that could cap or boost readings by 1–2°C. Official briefings and updated model outputs over the next 48 hours will refine resolution criteria for the market’s exact daily maximum.
