Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance for Austin indicates Thursday night's low will likely settle in the mid-70s, with official point forecasts centering near 75–77°F amid persistent southerly flow, elevated dew points near 70°F, and increasing cloud cover that limits nocturnal radiative cooling. A slight chance of afternoon/evening thunderstorms could further moderate temperature drops if skies remain overcast. These conditions explain the tight clustering of market-implied odds around the 72–77°F bins, as traders weigh model consensus against typical late-summer variability and the potential for minor forecast shifts before resolution. Historical September averages near 67°F underscore how anomalous warmth is sustaining elevated probabilities for the higher bins.
