**Trader sentiment for Cape Town's lowest temperature on September 13, 2026, centers on the 15°C outcome (54.5% implied probability) edging out 13°C (45%), with 12°C and 11°C or below also attracting significant interest around 44%.** This reflects model consensus for an overnight low near 14–15°C amid ongoing rain, thunderstorms, and overcast skies. Key drivers include persistent cloud cover and precipitation, which reduce radiative cooling by trapping heat, while moderate northerly to northwesterly winds promote mixing that limits sharp drops. Official and ensemble forecasts from sources like the South African Weather Service analogs and global models (GFS) cluster minimums in the 14–15°C range for the early morning hours, consistent with current evening readings around 16–18°C that are falling gradually. Uncertainty arises from variable rainfall intensity and wind gusts, which could either suppress cooling further or allow brief clearer intervals for additional temperature decline. Historical September averages for Cape Town (typically 10–14°C lows) provide context, but today's active weather pattern supports the market's tight clustering between 13°C and 15°C rather than extremes. Updated model runs and real-time observations through the night remain the primary near-term catalysts.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=fact
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C.
This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
