Official National Weather Service forecasts for Dallas on September 2, 2026, point to a nighttime low near 77°F amid persistent heat, with daytime highs near 99°F and a 20-40% chance of showers or thunderstorms. This places the expected minimum slightly above the 1991-2020 climatological average of 74.5°F, driven by elevated dew points near 70°F, southeasterly winds, and increasing cloud cover that limits radiative cooling overnight. Trader consensus splits between the 76-81°F range and lower outcomes because model runs show modest uncertainty from variable thunderstorm timing and coverage, which could either trap heat or allow brief clearer periods for additional cooling. Historical records indicate lows below 70°F remain possible but uncommon this early in September under similar synoptic patterns.
