Recent National Weather Service forecasts for Austin peg the September 2 high near 100–101°F under partly cloudy skies with a modest afternoon thunderstorm risk and heat indices approaching 109°F. This aligns with model consensus showing light southwesterly flow and minimal moisture to suppress temperatures below the upper 90s or push them into triple digits. The outcome sits well above the 1991–2020 September 2 climatological average of 94°F, reflecting persistent late-summer heat across central Texas. Traders have priced 100–101°F as the clear favorite at 49% implied probability, with 98–99°F the main alternative, as the latest guidance shows little run-to-run variability and resolution hinges on whether the daily maximum reaches or exceeds the 100°F threshold.
