This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Wellington Intl Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 2 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=nzwn If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event which there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Northwesterly winds and mild spring conditions are positioning the highest temperature in Wellington on September 2 around 15–16°C, aligning with the market's strong preference for 16°C (67.5% implied probability).** Official MetService guidance and multiple forecast models (including Yr.no, WeatherBug, and others) project a daytime high near 15°C under fine weather turning to a few afternoon showers, with strong northwesterlies. These winds advect relatively mild air from the Tasman Sea during early Southern Hemisphere spring, supporting temperatures a few degrees above seasonal norms without major synoptic systems to drive extremes. Model consensus shows limited variability, with peaks most often cited at 14–15°C and some runs allowing brief reaches to 16°C depending on exact timing and local measurement (e.g., urban vs. airport stations). Lower outcomes like 15°C (8.5%) or below remain possible if cloud cover or showers arrive earlier, while upside to 17°C+ (under 25% combined) would require stronger-than-expected warming or reduced mixing. With resolution imminent on September 2, the market reflects traders weighting the narrow forecast range and typical early-September variability.
