Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and models such as GFS point to a September 26 high in the low-to-mid 60s°F across New York City, driven by persistent northerly winds advecting cooler air behind a frontal passage, combined with widespread cloud cover and a 50-70% chance of showers that limit daytime heating. These conditions contrast with the late-September climatological average high near 73°F, explaining why market-implied odds cluster on 64-67°F bins. Minor forecast spread arises from exact timing of any partial clearing or rain intensity, though consensus across agency guidance keeps probabilities for 68°F or higher low while supporting the observed trader positioning on mid-60s outcomes. Updated model runs and NWS briefings over the next 48 hours will refine the final maximum.
