SpaceX commands a 97% market-implied probability of achieving a higher IPO market cap than OpenAI, driven by its April 1 confidential IPO filing targeting a $1.75–2 trillion valuation—more than double OpenAI's recent $852 billion post-money valuation from a $122 billion funding round. Traders' near-unanimous consensus reflects SpaceX's advanced operational maturity, including over 165 Falcon orbital launches last year, a Starlink constellation serving 10 million users with proven recurring revenue, and NASA contracts comprising stable government demand, bolstered by its February merger with xAI for orbital AI infrastructure. OpenAI faces internal skepticism over its aggressive Q4 2026 IPO timeline, with CFO concerns about massive compute spending amid profitability scrutiny. Realistic shifts could arise from SpaceX valuation compression during roadshows, regulatory hurdles delaying Starship milestones, or OpenAI accelerating to a surprise mega-IPO exceeding $1 trillion on breakthrough model releases; watch SEC filings and launch updates for catalysts.

In the event of an interruption in the course of the normal trading session on the respective companies’ first day of trading (e.g., a circuit breaker or half-day), the market will resolve according to the official closing price of the abbreviated session. If no such official closing price is published, the market will resolve according to the next trading day on which an official closing price is published, treating that as the first day of trading.
