**Strong upper-level ridging over the Southeast has driven unseasonably warm conditions into Atlanta, with National Weather Service forecasts calling for a Friday high near 96°F under mostly sunny skies.** Afternoon dew points in the low 70s will push heat indices toward 100°F, while light northwest winds and limited cloud cover support efficient daytime heating. Model consensus shows highs in the mid-90s, though scattered thunderstorms developing later in the day introduce modest uncertainty that could trim peak temperatures by 1–2°F. This setup aligns with the market’s heavy weighting toward 94–95°F (62%) and 96–97°F (22.5%), as traders incorporate the official guidance alongside the small but non-zero risk of convective cooling. Updated NWS point forecasts and afternoon model runs will be the next key data points before resolution.
