Minnesota's 2nd congressional district features an open seat after longtime Democratic incumbent Angie Craig vacated it to pursue a U.S. Senate bid. The district carries a Cook Partisan Voting Index of D+3 and has delivered consistent Democratic margins in recent cycles, establishing a structural advantage that underpins the 90.5% trader consensus for the Democratic nominee. Multiple DFL candidates, including state Sen. Matt Little, Rep. Kaela Berg, and Sen. Matt Klein, are competing in the August 12 primary, with the eventual nominee expected to benefit from established party infrastructure and fundraising edges. Republican Eric Pratt faces an uphill contest in a district where generic ballot and early polling have shown limited GOP headroom. A national midterm environment favoring Republicans or unusually strong turnout dynamics could narrow the gap, though structural factors continue to anchor current market pricing.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
