Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and other models indicate a high near 67°F for Chicago on September 25, driven by persistent easterly flow off Lake Michigan that delivers cooler, stable air and limits daytime heating. This onshore pattern, combined with variable cloud cover reducing solar insolation, has kept recent highs in the mid-60s and supports the market's tight clustering around 66–69°F bins. Below-average conditions relative to the 72.6°F historical norm for the date reflect these lake-influenced dynamics rather than broader seasonal trends. Updated model runs and NWS briefings in the next 48 hours will refine wind and cloud details that could shift resolution between the leading outcomes.
