**Persistent cloud cover, northeasterly flow, and light precipitation chances are capping daytime heating in Tokyo on September 23, 2026, keeping the maximum temperature tightly contested between 24°C and 25°C.** Official guidance from the Japan Meteorological Agency and multiple forecast models shows a high near 24–25°C under mostly overcast skies, with 20–40% rain probability and dew points in the upper teens supporting limited insolation. This follows warmer, partly clear conditions on the 22nd (highs near 29–30°C), as a shift to higher pressure and marine air advection cools the boundary layer. Traders assign nearly equal weight to the two leading outcomes because small differences in cloud thickness, shower timing, or wind speed (typically 3–7 m/s from the northeast) can swing the daily maximum by 1°C. Historical late-September averages near 25–26°C provide context, but the current synoptic setup favors the lower end of the normal range. Updated model runs and official briefings through the evening of the 22nd remain the key near-term catalysts.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=rjtt
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C.
This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
