Recent forecasts from the China Meteorological Administration and global models such as GFS indicate a September 22 high near 28–30 °C in Beijing under partly cloudy skies and light southerly flow, placing the daily maximum squarely in the range favored by traders. This aligns with late-September climatology, where the 1991–2020 average high is 25 °C, yet current conditions support readings several degrees above normal without the strong warm advection needed for 33 °C or higher. Model consensus shows limited spread, with only modest uncertainty from cloud cover or minor precipitation timing that could trim the peak by 1 °C. Updated runs over the next 48 hours and the final official observation will determine whether the market’s heaviest weighting on 30 °C holds or shifts toward 29 °C or 31 °C.
