**Recent cooling from a high-altitude low trough and weak cold air advection has positioned Wuhan for a maximum temperature near 24°C on September 18, 2026.** Official forecasts from sources including the China Meteorological Administration and international models (e.g., ECMWF, GFS) indicate overcast skies, light rain or drizzle potential, and northerly winds of 2–4 m/s, which limit daytime heating and keep the peak in the 24–27°C range. Multiple station and ensemble outputs cluster around 24–25°C as the most probable high, with 24°C carrying the dominant market-implied probability of 89%. This aligns with the observed cooling trend since mid-September, when prior highs exceeded 30°C before the current frontal influence suppressed temperatures. Historical September baselines in Wuhan average closer to 28°C, but the active weather pattern and high humidity (often >80%) further moderate extremes. As the day advances, updated observational data from local stations will refine the exact peak, with any unexpected clearing potentially pushing readings toward 25–26°C.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=zhhh
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C.
This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
