National Weather Service guidance and short-range forecast models indicate a high temperature in Chicago on September 18 in the low to mid-70s, driven by easterly flow, extensive cloud cover, and limited daytime heating following recent frontal activity. This setup favors 72-73°F as the leading resolution range, consistent with observed trends and climatological norms for mid-September under similar synoptic patterns. Market-implied probabilities align closely with this consensus, with 70-71°F and 74-75°F as secondary outcomes reflecting minor model spread and potential for slight warming if skies clear earlier than expected. Updated NWS briefings and afternoon observations will provide the final verification data for resolution.
