Recent July ISM Services PMI data at 54.1, slightly below consensus expectations of 54.5 yet marking the 25th consecutive month of expansion above 50, anchors trader views for the August reading amid a resilient services sector. Stronger-than-expected July manufacturing PMI at 55.6, combined with steady new orders and business activity, supports probabilities clustered around the 53–57 range, while persistent concerns over inflation, mortgage rates, and energy costs introduce downside risks that elevate the sub-50.0 outcome to 25.5 percent. Closely matched odds across bins reflect balanced assessments of labor market stability, consumer spending trends, and any early August indicators ahead of the September 3 release, underscoring uncertainty in the services expansion trajectory.
