Current National Weather Service and model guidance point to overnight lows in the mid-70s for Austin on September 4 amid persistent southerly flow, elevated humidity, and lack of a strong frontal passage. This warm advection pattern, typical of late-summer high-pressure ridging over the southern Plains, supports the market’s elevated implied probability for 76-77°F while also leaving room for a warmer minimum near or above 78°F if clouds and moisture linger. Historical September 4 lows average near 71°F, but recent seasons have trended warmer; any unexpected clearing or drier air intrusion could shift odds toward the 69°F-or-below bin. Updated NWS and NOAA model runs expected overnight will be the key near-term catalyst for trader adjustments.
