Recent National Weather Service and AccuWeather guidance points to overnight lows of 75–79°F for Austin on August 26 amid persistent high pressure and a heat advisory, yet trader consensus assigns 50% implied probability to 71°F or below. This positioning likely reflects model spread around potential overnight cooling from increased cloud cover, scattered showers, or weak steering flow that could enhance radiational cooling or bring slightly drier air behind any disturbance. Historical August climatology shows average lows near 75°F with rare drops below 70°F, so the market appears to weigh uncertainty in short-range guidance and any last-minute forecast revisions from NOAA or local offices. Upcoming model runs and evening observations will clarify whether surface winds and humidity trends support the cooler tail or reinforce mid-70s readings.
