Recent National Weather Service and ensemble forecasts project a high temperature in the mid-70s Fahrenheit for New York City on September 6, driven by northeasterly flow behind a departing front that advects cooler maritime air under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Light winds of 5–10 mph and minimal cloud cover should allow modest daytime heating, though any increase in low-level moisture or brief drizzle could cap the peak near 73–74°F. With the market’s top three bins (72–77°F) holding nearly 58% combined implied probability, traders are pricing modest model spread in boundary-layer mixing and exact steering flow rather than major pattern shifts. Historical September 6 averages near 79.5°F underscore the cooler-than-normal setup, while the two-day lead time leaves room for minor adjustments from updated model guidance before resolution.
