Persistent marine layer and strong westerly onshore flow from the Pacific are keeping San Francisco temperatures moderated near historical September norms around 71°F, aligning with the tight market split between 68-69°F and 70-71°F outcomes. Official forecasts from the National Weather Service highlight breezy conditions with winds 15-25 mph, which enhance evaporative cooling and limit afternoon warming despite clear to partly cloudy skies. Morning observations near 60-64°F and dew points in the mid-50s support this consensus, while model runs show limited potential for inland heating to push readings higher. Final resolution will depend on peak readings at downtown or airport stations before evening cooling sets in.
