Taiwanese local elections are scheduled to be held on November 28, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next Magistrate of Miaoli County as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder Magistrates appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known, or no candidate has been elected, by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of the elections as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the Taiwanese government, specifically the Central Election Commission (https://db.cec.gov.tw/).Chung Tung-chin, the incumbent Miaoli County Magistrate since December 2022, holds an 88.5% implied probability in the market for the November 28, 2026 local election winner, reflecting trader consensus on his structural advantages. His independent victory in 2022, despite KMT non-endorsement and subsequent vote-buying probes that did not result in annulment, established a base of local support in a county with consistent pan-blue voting patterns. The DPP’s November 2025 nomination of Chen Pin-an as challenger registers at 6.5%, consistent with limited reported momentum or polling shifts for the opposition in this race. Recent administrative recognitions for Chung in mid-2026 have reinforced perceptions of continuity without introducing new competitive dynamics or candidate withdrawals that could alter the field ahead of the vote.
