Clear skies and a stable high-pressure system over central Spain are driving radiative cooling overnight, positioning Madrid's minimum temperature for September 2 near the 1991–2020 climatological average of 17.6°C. Light northeast winds and low humidity levels support efficient heat loss after sunset, with official model guidance from sources like GFS indicating lows clustered between 17–21°C depending on exact timing of the daily minimum. The near-even market split between 17°C or below (50.5% implied) and 18°C (42.5%) reflects minor divergences across forecast runs on the precise cooling rate under these calm, dry conditions, with traders weighing the potential for slight model revisions before resolution.
