Costco's (COST) trader consensus on Polymarket reflects a 91.5% implied probability for no hot dog price increase before 2027, anchored by CEO Ron Vachris's March 2026 Instagram pledge that the iconic $1.50 combo—unchanged since 1985—will hold steady during his tenure, echoing co-founder Jim Sinegal's longstanding mandate and prior CFO commitments. This loss-leader strategy bolsters membership retention and foot traffic in Costco's high-margin warehouse model, with vertical integration via company-owned hot dog factories insulating against food cost inflation. While robust, the consensus could face pressure from executive turnover, sustained commodity spikes exceeding historical buffers, or strategic shifts amid evolving consumer spending patterns ahead of year-end resolution.

Costco increases hotdog price before 2027?
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the price of a standard Costco hot dog and 20 oz soda combo before tax exceeds $1.50 in any Costco store in the United States by December 31, 2026, 11:59PM ET. Otherwise this market will resolve to "No".
If Costco announces they will increase the price, this market will resolve to "Yes" regardless of whether that change is actually implemented.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from Costco, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
