Recent National Weather Service and local forecasts for Denver on September 12, 2026, center on a high near 82–85°F under partly to mostly cloudy skies with a 20–30% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. This range aligns with market-implied odds favoring 82–83°F or 84–85°F, reflecting uncertainty in peak heating amid variable cloud cover and southeasterly winds that may enhance mixing or limit full insolation. Afternoon convection on the High Plains often caps temperatures by reducing solar radiation and promoting evaporative cooling, while Denver’s mile-high elevation and typical late-summer downslope flow support readings modestly above the 80.3°F climatological average. Real-time METAR updates and model refinements through the afternoon will likely narrow the distribution before resolution.
