Recent National Weather Service forecasts and supporting model guidance indicate a high likelihood of morning rain and persistent cloud cover over Seattle on August 29, limiting daytime heating and keeping the maximum temperature in the upper 60s to low 70s. Marine air advection combined with precipitation evaporative cooling and reduced solar insolation are the dominant factors suppressing values below the late-August climatological average of roughly 75°F. Ensemble spread in guidance creates the tight clustering of market-implied odds across the 62–71°F bins, while the low probability assigned to 72°F and above reflects the limited potential for clearing skies or stronger subsidence to allow greater warming before evening. Updated model runs and any shifts in the timing of frontal passage will be the key near-term drivers of revisions to the consensus range.
