Forecast models for Chicago’s overnight low on September 15 show a broad range centered near 65–70 °F, reflecting modest model spread in the timing and strength of an approaching weak cold front and variable cloud cover that will influence radiational cooling. Lake Michigan’s moderating effect, current dew-point trends near 55 °F, and light wind forecasts keep the distribution relatively tight, while any increase in clear skies or stronger northerly flow could push the minimum several degrees lower. Historical mid-September climatology places typical overnight lows in the upper 50s, yet the current setup lacks strong high pressure, supporting the market’s dispersed probabilities across multiple temperature bins. Updated National Weather Service and ensemble guidance tonight will provide the next clear signal ahead of the observation window.
