The Montarville riding in the October 5, 2026 Quebec general election remains a close contest between incumbent Coalition Avenir Québec MNA Nathalie Roy and Parti Québécois challenger Jean-François Cloutier, with Liberal Mathieu Lavoie and Québec solidaire’s Ginette Langlois also on the ballot. Roy’s long tenure as National Assembly president and local profile provide continuity for the CAQ, while Cloutier’s August 2026 announcement as a prominent journalist has bolstered PQ momentum in a riding that leaned CAQ in 2022 but now sits near even in riding-level projections. Provincial polling trends showing the PQ narrowing the gap with the governing CAQ, combined with the short campaign period after the writ drop on August 27, keep trader odds tightly clustered. Late-campaign developments such as party leader visits, local issue focus on housing and language, or shifts in francophone turnout could widen the margin before nomination closes on September 17 and voting begins.
