In the Charlesbourg riding, trader consensus reflects a tight multi-candidate contest ahead of the October 5 Quebec general election, with no single contender holding a decisive edge in early positioning. The departure of longtime CAQ incumbent Jonatan Julien has opened the seat to competition among established parties, including CAQ nominee Marie-Josée Morency, PQ's Gabriel Coulombe, PLQ's Seynabou Top, PCQ's Éloïse Coulombe, and QS's Georges Goma. Recent provincial polling averages and local projections show PCQ and PQ ahead of CAQ in the riding, yet the overall campaign remains fluid with five main parties contesting seats province-wide. Developments such as candidate debates, regional economic announcements, and voter turnout patterns in the Capitale-Nationale area could shift momentum before nominations close on September 17.
