The tight trader consensus in the Taschereau riding stems from Québec solidaire incumbent Étienne Grandmont facing a fragmented field that includes PQ candidate Christian Savard (installed after Vincent Marissal’s late-August exclusion), PCQ’s Eliot Estévez-Verville, PLQ’s Farnell Morisset, and CAQ’s Brigitte Martin. The writ drop on August 27 for the October 5 general election, combined with recent PQ candidate instability and projections showing QS at roughly 39% local support versus PQ around 22-28%, has kept probabilities clustered. Voter turnout in this central Quebec City district, provincial polling trends favoring the PQ, and any late shifts in national momentum could widen separation among the main contenders before nomination deadlines close.
