This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 2 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=katl This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event which there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Forecast consensus from the National Weather Service (NWS) Peachtree City and multiple models places Atlanta’s high on September 2, 2026, in the mid-90s under high pressure, sunny skies, and light winds.** This setup favors strong daytime solar heating with minimal cloud cover or precipitation (near 0-5% chance), pushing temperatures above the long-term average high of ~86.5°F. Recent heat buildup across north Georgia, with highs climbing through the mid-90s and heat indices approaching 100°F by late August, has reinforced expectations of continued warmth into early September. The market’s leading outcomes—96-97°F (43.5%), 98-99°F (28.5%), and 94-95°F (22.5%)—align closely with this guidance, reflecting traders’ assessment of the narrow but warm range supported by current model runs. Historical precedent shows 97°F as the all-time record for the date (1957), so values near or slightly above that remain plausible under sustained clear conditions, while lower outcomes would require unexpected cloud cover or a faster frontal approach. Upcoming NWS updates and model runs through September 1 will be the key near-term catalysts for any shifts in implied probabilities.
