The IPO refers to the first sale of stock by the listed company to the public on any recognized stock exchange. If the listed company undergoes a merger, this will only qualify for a “No” resolution if the transaction results in the listed company being fully absorbed, dissolved, or otherwise no longer capable of independently conducting an Initial Public Offering. Transactions in which the listed company continues as a parent or successor will not alone qualify for a “No” resolution. This market will resolve early if the listed company completes an IPO by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. The resolution source for this market is a consensus of credible reporting.Robust 2026 IPO activity, with traditional offerings raising over $114 billion through June—more than seven times the prior-year pace—reflects supportive equity markets, including a Nasdaq Composite up roughly 35% year-to-date, and renewed risk appetite for growth companies. Recent filings and pricings in late August and early September, such as SB Energy, Accelevation, and smaller deals on Nasdaq, alongside Hong Kong listings like Shein, underscore continued momentum driven by AI infrastructure and tech demand. The pipeline features high-profile names like Anthropic targeting Q4 2026, while broader conditions including stable Treasury yields and institutional capital flows support additional debuts before year-end. Key catalysts ahead include post-Labor Day windows and any FOMC signals on rates that could influence valuation multiples.
