Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance point to overnight lows in the low 70s for New York City on September 3, driven by persistent humidity, extensive cloud cover, and light southwesterly flow that limits radiational cooling. Forecasters highlight a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms, which could further suppress temperature drops depending on timing and intensity. With leading market bins clustered tightly between 68–73 °F, traders are weighing subtle differences in model bias, boundary-layer moisture, and any late-evening wind shifts that might allow brief clearer skies and slightly lower readings. Updated NWS forecasts and next model runs will likely refine these narrow ranges ahead of resolution.
