The solidly Republican character of Minnesota's 6th Congressional District, with a Cook Partisan Voter Index of R+10 and consistent historical performance, underpins the Republican Party's leading position in the 2026 House race. Incumbent Tom Emmer, first elected in 2014 and re-elected with over 60 percent in 2024, faces only minor primary opposition ahead of the August 11 contest, while Democratic candidates remain largely untested in a district that has not elected a Democrat since 1998. Nonpartisan race ratings from Cook Political Report, Inside Elections, and Sabato's Crystal Ball classify the seat as solid or safe Republican, reflecting limited early polling movement and the absence of major shifts in voter sentiment or candidate dynamics over the past month. Trader consensus aligns with these structural factors ahead of the November general election.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
